AS Fertilitas’ rules regarding waiting lists for planned treatment

  • Patients may be entered into waiting lists by the patient themselves or the doctor, nurse or other authorised staff member:
    • at the registration desk on all business days between 9:00 and 19:00;
    • by phone or e-mail or via our online registration system;
    • via the health information system in the Digital Registration system.
  • Submitted applications for entry into a waiting list for treatment are registered immediately, regardless of waiting times and other factors.
  • Patient information registered upon entry into a waiting list includes:
    • the patient’s first name and surname, personal identification code or, in the absence thereof, the patient’s date of birth;
    • planned admission or hospitalisation registration time;
    • indication for the planned health service (diagnosis and name of operation, medical examination or procedure);
    • the patient’s contact details;
    • the contact details of the referring doctor (if referred);
    • the date of entry of the patient into the waiting list for treatment;
    • date and reason for changes to the waiting list for treatment (moving up or down in or excluding from the waiting list);
    • the code for the reason for entry into the waiting list for treatment, if the waiting time is longer than the maximum waiting time for treatment as prescribed by the Estonian Health Insurance Fund;
    • confirmation that the patient has been informed of changes to the waiting list for treatment.
  • Patients entered into a waiting list for treatment when visiting AS Fertilitas’ hospital or polyclinic in person shall be provided a written notice indicating the time of provision of the health service as well as the name and phone number of the structural unit or healthcare professional providing the health service.
  • Patients entered into a waiting list for treatment by phone or e-mail or via the Internet shall be notified of the time of provision of the health service and given the name and phone number of the structural unit or healthcare professional providing the health service by phone or by electronic means.
  • Registration via the Digital Registration system is available to patients and healthcare providers throughout the day.
  • Patients shall be notified of any changes to waiting lists for treatment no later than within one business day from the time of making the changes.
  • The maximum waiting time for specialised outpatient care is 6 weeks; the maximum waiting time for planned specialised inpatient care and day care is 8 months.
  • If the waiting time is longer than 6 months, the patient shall be informed of the time and place of provision of the health service one month before the provision of the service.
